Lumu Socks by Champa Devi Tuladhar

Lumu (लुमु) means warmth in Newari language. These are hand-knitted by 78 year old Champa Devi Tuladhar. Lumu socks are made from locally sourced wool and will bring 'lumu' to you in those cold winter months 

Lumu Topi by Champa Devi Tuladhar

Lumu (लुमु) topi is hand-knitted by 78 year old Champa Devi Tuladhar, Aji’s first maker. Made from the soft wool, these beautiful topis come in assorted colors and free sizes and will keep you warm in the winter’s chill.

Kagazko Purse by Siddhi Laxmi Bajracharya

Kagazko (कागजको) purse is handmade by 72 year old Aji's maker Siddhi Laxmi with recycled newspapers and magazines. Each purse is made of hundreds of rectangular cut-outs meticulously assembled to create this stylish and durable purse. Siddhi Laxmi learned to make these purses from a Danish woman who was visiting Kathmandu. Kagazko means made of paper in Nepali.

Vakra Silver Bangle by Ratna Kaji Tamrakar

Vakra means imperfect or bent in the ancient Sanskrit language. Vakra Silver Bangle is made of 100% silver, weighs approx. 8.5 grams and has a shape of an imperfect circle with a diameter of approx. 2.8 inches in the widest side and 2.4 inches on the narrowest side. This bangle is made by 10th generation, 62 years old silversmith Ratna Kaji Tamrakar of Kathmandu.

Dhaka Shawl by Ram Kumari Shrestha

This beautiful shawl is made of Nepali Dhaka fabric by 82 year old Ram Kumari Shrestha. It is made by stitching Dhaka fabric between two layers of muslin cloth which gives it a soft and warm feel. These shawls come in assorted patterns.

Dhaka Handkerchief by Ram Kumari Shrestha

This unique handkerchief is made of traditional Nepali fabric known in Nepal as “Dhaka” by 82 year old Ram Kumari Shrestha. It is made by stitching Dhaka fabric between two layers of muslin cloth which gives it a soft touch. These handkerchiefs come in beautiful fish patterns and red borders.

 

Flower Brooch by Ratna Kaji Tamrakar

Flower Brooch is handcrafted brooch made of 100% silver by 62 years old Ratna Kaji Tamrakar. This is Ratna Kaji’s original design and instantly adds elegance and style to your outfit . Each Flower Brooch is approximately 13 grams, 3 inches in length and 1.5 inches in width. It comes in a traditional Nepali handmade lokta paper box.

Vajra Earrings by Ratna Kaji Tamrakar

Vajra: The Thunderbolt are handcrafted earrings made of 100% silver by 62 years old Ratna Kaji Tamrakar. Vajra in Sanskrit language means thunderbolt and symbolises the mighty one. Each pair of Vajra earrings is approximately 2 grams and 1.5 inches in length.

Mheecha Pouch by Late Gyani Laxmi Manandhar

Handmade by Late Gyani Laxmi Manandhar (1927- 2019). Mheecha (म्हीचा) is traditional Newari pouch made of locally made cloth and a unique combination of threads to open and close the pouch, similar to lasso style.

Poh Bracelet by Menuka Shrestha

Poh (पु) are handcrafted bracelets made of colorful glass beads by Menuka Shrestha. Each bracelet is made of hundreds of tiny glass beads stringed together to form a loop. The glass beads were traditionally worn by Nepalese women as a symbol of marriage. These make for great fashion accessories regardless of your marital status and gender. Size is approx. 7 inches in circumference.

Tapu Headwarmer by Sushila Sthapit

Hand-knitted woolen headbands by 73 year old Sushila Sthapit. Tapu (तपु) is designed to cover  the head and ears to keep them warm.

Button Cowl by Rita Moktan

Button Cowl is hand-knitted cowl by 58 years old Rita Moktan from Dhumbarahi neighbourhood of Kathmandu. The cowl is made of soft wool with a unique pattern and five buttons. The buttons can be in the centre or either side of the neck, giving a stylish touch. It can be worn with your sweater or coat to keep the neck area warm.

Infinity Cowl by Necklace Sthapit

Infinity Cowl is hand-knitted by 72 years old Necklace Sthapit who lives in Kalimati with her four grandchildren. These colorful hand-knitted beauties will keep you feeling warm & trendy during the freezing winter months. Size 8 inches by 9 inches.
